Yokohama Soundscape Project presents World Listening Day 2026: Listening As Practice featuring the Tokyo Phonographers Union: Carl Stone, Hiroshi Shimizu, Kanako Iriguchi, Marcos Fernandes, Sawa Iwasaki, and Takuya Endo. World Listening Day is observed around the globe in July every year. The Tokyo Phonographers Union’s event merely proposes “listening to the sound” and “enjoying the sound” of our environment. One pays little attention to the existence of “sound” in our daily lives yet we are being continuously surrounded and influenced by it.
