Possible Spaces ／可能空間
Possible Spaces is a forum for the presentation of phonographic works including straight field recordings, soundscape compositions, solo and collective improvisations. It attempts to engage the audience in an investigation of sound as art, our relationship to our sound environment, and an awareness of acoustic ecology. The importance of human hearing is often overshadowed by our current visual preoccupation. Possible Spaces attempts to help reconnect us with and retrain us to decipher the information provided by our sound environment.

Audience members can come and go freely.

New York NY The Stone

Tokyo based composer Carl Stone gives a supremely eponymous performance for his debut at The Stone, the not-for-profit performance space dedicated to the experimental and avant-garde. artistic director John Zorn. Carl’s performance will feature a full set of Lower East Side premieres of new works for computer based sound. Also in the set, Carl will be joined by pianist Sarah Cahill in a reprise of his work Sonamu, a work especially written for Sarah as part of her “Sweeter Music” series of commissioned works. This concert is one of a month of events curated by Annie Gosfield and Roger Kleier.
