AMATERASU IN SHINJUKU, broadcast on Radio Bremen Nordwest, Germany. A radio play based on the Japanese creation myth of Kojiki, contrasting the sounds of traditional Japanese with the urban soundscape of 21st Century Tokyo, mixed, extended and further transmogrified by the artists. Amaterasu in Shinjuku is a sound/music project created in 5.1 surround sound by the German radio-maker Malte Jaspersen with the American composer Carl Stone and Japanese vocalist Haco. Also with actors Matthias Habich Elizabeth Trissenaar Linda Olsansky and Martin Engler. This 55 minute piece is a production of RBB/ Radio Bremen 2006.
The broadcast will be immediately followed by a special twenty-minute artist portrait of composer Carl Stone, produced and hosted by director Malte Jaspersen.
